Harrison Pitt Architects worked with Lancaster Methodist Church on this major refurbishment of The Cornerstone facility, on the corner of the busy Dalton Square at the heart of Lancaster.

The new facility was designed to provide a safe place in the city for people experiencing hardship, and contains meeting spaces, offices and a community café. The building is also used by a number of charities that support people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The project saw the complete transformation of the community facility, into a bright and welcoming series of spaces which provide flexible and comfortable accommodation for service users.

The project was completed in 2014 by Pinington Construction Ltd.

“It has been a remarkable transformation.  The Cornerstone is continuing to see increased usage month by month and the design is proving both flexible and resilient.”
